| | Robert Lenkiewicz was an immense human being and a remarkable artist. He was also my friend.
To celebrate and pay tribute to him, I have produced a DVD which follws his final six years from 1996 through to his death in 2002. My unique film shows 'the man behind the painter' and is a snapshot of the time I spent with him, as a sitter for his Addictive Behaviour Project. The documentary was filmed 'behind the scenes' within his main Barbican studio and at other venues within Plymouth. It is a 'fly on the wall' impression of this larger than life character, a talented and caring individual. The film is intended to offer a real glimpse into Robert's activities, his interests and to the colourful lifestyle he enjoyed. His secret side is also highlighted through conversations as we talk about his work, his books, the library, his thoughts on love and death etc. He also speaks about his controversial 30 year study into an erotic inquiry involving 3000 women. Besides this, many other fascinating areas of Robert's life are discussed, which gives the viewer a genuine picture of this truly gifted gentleman. With footage from special talks and studio sittings, to his last Christmas Day spent with the street people of Plymouth, my DVD is a 'must have' for anyone interested in the life and work of Robert Oskar Lenkiewicz. |
